Show house Alpenchic

This show house which features a timber shingle façade has been designed in the style of an alpine chalet and incorporates a shallow pitched roof with large overhangs. The interiors are characterised by a combination of natural materials and timber details which exude a cosy yet tasteful ambience. Architect Georg Schauer points out the "large post and beam surfaces which are a modern re-interpretation of barn doors and lend the house transparency". The floor plan is "inspired by a conversion of a former barn into a residential house".

A modern interpretation of the Alpine chalet

Architect

"The "Alpenchic" show house skilfully combines traditional, alpine elements and modern Bauhaus design. The timber shingle cladding which is typical of alpine architecture and the large glazed façade give it a light, modern feel. This is underpinned by delicate loggias and a post-modern entrance."
