Extending our portfolio in Jersey

We are completing a substantial home extension on the island of Jersey. For Baufritz UK this is a step up from what is usually expected of us. One of our differentiators, the ability to adapt the Baufritz system to meet the client's needs, can be seen here. The existing house was completely stripped inside and out. Baufritz built the extension and fitted out the house. Jersey planning regulations aimed at saving green space and a reluctance to allow the demolition of houses were key factors in the final build.

The internal finishes are nearing completion and by using Baufritz elements in the refurbishment and extension, the final product looks like one house, blending original and new to such an extent that it is difficult to tell the difference.

Jersey's relatively small size and location make it ideal for off-site fabrication. Clients can define their projects and select materials and finishes whilst visiting our manufacturing facility in Erkheim, Bavaria. Modules are manufactured in our factory, and everything is shipped to site ready for completion by our skilled trades people.

The island's ecology is important to the people of Jersey, so an eco-home makes sense. Using only natural materials, minimising waste and creating low energy homes resonates both with the people and the Jersey Government.

When we put all these factors into perspective, it is clear that there is interest in a Baufritz style house and we are seeing more projects in this dynamic and interesting building location.
